Hello! My name is Saurabh; also known as Sam. I work in Dneg (Double Negative) as VFX Compositor. I've had the opportunity to work as compositor on various films and commercials. In my free time I usually try to learn new things and help other students with their personal projects and student films. |
Originally from India, I spent a large part of my life working at an airport as a Ground staff / Flight Attendant. I have been always interested working in films, and I decided to change my career path and focus on something different. After graduating from a Film School in 2013, I started working as a video editor and DIT (Digital Imaging Technician) for films and commercials. Getting a
chance to work on set, and observing other people, got me extremely intrigued in learning VFX and pursuing a career. I completed my Bachelors in 3D animation and VFX, mainly focusing on Compositing and Lighting, and I graduated in 2019 from Media Design School, Auckland, New Zealand.
As a Compositor, we create the final image of a frame or VFX sequence; we are mainly the last part in the VFX pipeline. I take pride working in a team and learning new skills from the talented artists, I collaborate with. The entertainment industry is great, you get to meet different people from different backgrounds and they all have their own stories to share. This inspires me the most.
